Congregation Eilat, located in Mission Viejo, California had experienced significant growth in a short span of time due to the influx of new families to southern Orange County. The conservative Jewish congregation unable to accommodate its new membership at their present location looked to the planning and design of a new campus on a five acre site in an adjacent community of Rancho Santa Margarita. The programmatic components of the master plan consisted of a five hundred seat sanctuary, administration complex, commercial kitchen, and a privately administered educational complex consisting of an elementary and middle school. The planning process involved pedestrian and vehicular access to the campus to be designed around a series of green areas for the different structures to be designed around.
